Lukasz grew up in Przemysl, Poland. Since his early years he studied piano and organ performance. As a member of an early music ensemble he came across pieces by the Krakow Dominicans and this encounter revolutionized his view of liturgical music. Attracted by the way the Dominicans pray and sing, Lukasz entered religious life in 2000.

In the Order he served as cantor and conductor, he also participated in several recording sessions with the DLC, Gregorian chant seminars, festivals of early music, etc. In 2007 he graduated from the Pontifical John Paul II University in Krakow with a degree in patristic theology. After two years of ministry in Jaroslaw, Poland, Lukasz was sent to join the Dominican campus ministry team at Columbia University in the City of New York. Ever since then his focus has been to form people through their conscious participation in the liturgical life of the Church, and the music developed in the Dominican environment in Poland lent itself exceptionally well to this purpose. In collaboration with Christopher Mueller he translated and arranged many of those compositions, introducing them into liturgical life of the ministry sites he has served: Columbia University in NYC, Holy Family Cathedral in Anchorage, AK, University of Washington Newman Center in Seattle, WA, and St. Catherine’s Newman Center in Salt Lake City, UT.

During World Youth Day 2016 in Krakow, Poland, Lukasz served as the co-director of liturgy and music at the English-speaking site, the Mercy Center, leading music for 18,000 pilgrims at Tauron Arena. One of the fruits of this project was an invitation to direct music at the USCCB Convocation of Catholic Leaders in Orlando, FL, in July 2017.

In July 2019 he came back to Poland and became the President of the Dominican Liturgical Center. He lived in a convent in Krakow where he also led marriage prep courses and was Chaplain of English speaking Catholic community in Krakow, in Saint Giles’ Church near Wawel Castle. In mid-April 2021 he was chosen a prior of the St. Adalbert Convent in Wrocław and was serving as such for a year, remaining the President of DLC at the same time. During the Provincial Chapter in February of 2022 he was chosen the Promoter for the Liturgy. In the middle of 2022 he came back to Krakow.

In November 2020 Fr. Gerard Francisco Parco Timoner III, the Master of the Order appointed him a member of the Subcommittee on Liturgical Music of the International Liturgical Commission of the Dominican Order. He’s been appointed for a six-year term.

Lukasz loves walking the Way of St. James in Spain, working with college students, and theological conversations involving good wine.
